A Clear Path from Manuscript Preparation to Publication

Before You Submit
Authors should select a journal whose aims and scope match the manuscript and review the journal-specific instructions before submission. A well-prepared submission can reduce administrative delays and help editors assess the work efficiently.
- Confirm that the manuscript fits the selected journal.
- Review accepted article types and formatting requirements.
- Prepare a clear title, structured abstract where required, and relevant keywords.
- Verify author names, affiliations, corresponding-author details, and contribution statements.
- Ensure figures, tables, references, and supplementary files are complete and readable.
- Provide required declarations relating to ethics, consent, conflicts of interest, funding, and data availability where applicable.
Manuscript Preparation
Authorship and Responsibilities
All listed authors should have made an appropriate contribution to the work and should approve the submitted and final versions. The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and for helping ensure that information supplied about authorship, affiliations, declarations, and approvals is accurate.
Originality
Authors should submit original work and appropriately acknowledge prior publications, data, ideas, images, and other sources. Material under consideration elsewhere should not be submitted simultaneously unless explicitly permitted.
Research Ethics
Research involving humans, animals, identifiable information, clinical interventions, or other regulated activities should comply with applicable ethical and institutional requirements. Relevant approval and consent information should be included when required.
Submission and Editorial Screening
After submission, the journal may perform an initial check for scope, completeness, originality, ethical declarations, presentation, and general suitability. A manuscript may be returned for technical corrections before formal editorial evaluation.
Peer Review and Revision
Where peer review is required, reviewers assess the scientific quality, clarity, methods, interpretation, relevance, and presentation of the manuscript. Authors should respond to reviewer comments respectfully and systematically.
- Provide a point-by-point response to each comment.
- Identify where changes were made in the revised manuscript.
- Explain respectfully when a suggested change is not adopted.
- Do not conceal substantial changes to methods, results, authorship, or conclusions.
After Acceptance
Accepted manuscripts may proceed through production, formatting, metadata preparation, proof review, and online publication. Authors should review proofs carefully for production errors and return corrections promptly. Proof review is not normally intended for major rewriting or new analyses.
Post-Publication
If a material error is identified after publication, authors should notify the journal so the matter can be assessed under the Correction and Retraction Policies.
