When Payment Is Requested

Payment should normally be requested only according to the journal's stated workflow and applicable agreement. Authors should not interpret an invoice, quotation, or payment request as evidence that scientific acceptance is guaranteed unless a formal acceptance decision has already been issued by the journal.

Editorial decisions must remain independent of an author's ability to pay, membership status, or commercial relationship, subject to the journal's stated policies and available waiver arrangements.

Waivers, Discounts, and Institutional Arrangements
